Olimpia is an abstract, mixed media artist based in New England. Her work reflects a pastiche upbringing in New York City. Particularly inspired by the street art and graffiti culture’s evolution during the 80’s and 90’s, her work is likewise a conversation between the past and present, performance and artifact, the sacred and the mundane.

In working with the abstract, she seeks to unravel the subject / object dichotomy. Direction through movement, color and form in a way similar to improvisational dance or music, discovering the work and the self simultaneously. The layering of paints and papers in continuum creates an abstract landscape akin to the folding of memory, how we experience our identities shifting from moment to moment up against the world; with rough, torn edges, glimmers of something forgotten, in a vibrant lexicon of color.
